Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Transmission Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Power Delivery team. The role focuses on design of transmission line systems and structural analysis of towers, with active participation in project teams and client meetings.

The engineer will prepare calculations and construction documents, collaborate across disciplines, and help mentor junior staff as the Power Delivery practice grows. This is an in-person role in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in transmissions, distributions, or communication line design.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI Standards.

Responsibilities

• Design of Power Delivery transmission line systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design of monopole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.
• Participate in project teams in an active production role.
• Lead project meetings with clients and internal teams.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed calculations for construction documents and specs.
• Mentor junior staff and help grow the Power Delivery practice.
• This is an in-person role.
