Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Transmission Line Engineering Analyst with 2+ years of relevant experience to join our diverse and fast-paced organization.

The role focuses on the design of high and extra-high voltage transmission lines, preparation of construction documents, and providing field support during construction, with opportunities to lead teams and interface with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering with FE or equivalent.
• MS degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design high and extra-high voltage transmission lines (69-500kV) using PLS-CADD.
• Prepare construction documents, including plan and profile drawings.
• Develop specifications and project design criteria.
• Provide field support during construction.
• Lead and mentor junior staff and coordinate with clients.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Transmission Line Engineering Analyst with 2+ years of relevant experience to join our diverse and fast-paced organization!

Responsibilities

• Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
• Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
• Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
• Provide field support during construction.
• The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
• Occasional travel to client and project locations will be expected.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
• 2+ years related transmission line design experience.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in scheduling and budgeting.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Consulting or utility experience preferred.
