Job summary

Invenergy LLC, headquartered in Chicago, IL, is the developer, owner and operator of power infrastructure across North America. The Associate, Transmission Development role sits in the Chicago office and supports the team in advancing transmission projects.

The ideal candidate holds a BS/BA and 3+ years in transmission/renewable energy, with strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• BS or BA from an accredited college program.
• 3+ years’ work experience in the transmission or renewable energy development.
• Strong understanding of the development process for transmission and renewable energy projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, organizational and time management skills.
• Travel 20–50% and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Advance existing transmission developments within the United States.
• Identify development prospects, including market assessments, transmission routing analysis, fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance.
• Create documents and presentations.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies and manage resource assessment processes.
• Secure site control for transmission development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements and other agreements with landowners.
• Evaluate and track power market trends.
• Coordinate landowner communication efforts.
• Take a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits.
• Represent Invenergy LLC with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders.
• Initiate and manage generation interconnection and transmission service activities.
• Assist project budgeting and scheduling.
• Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.
