Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a Transmission Forester to join our vegetation management team. The role involves outdoor field patrols along energy corridors, assessing vegetation, and applying ISA pruning techniques and ANSI line clearance standards.

You will work independently while coordinating with clients and agencies, ensuring compliance and safety. Strong communication and GIS skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software and Microsoft Suite; iPhone usage.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps and paperwork; review sites for wildlife and sensitive habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors; identify vegetation for pruning or removal; conduct tree risk assessments.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: identify property boundaries; communicate work plans to owners and agencies; obtain permissions.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: propose sustainable strategies; audit contractor work; document findings.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work; report safety concerns; follow safety plans; operate vehicles.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm and emergency response; perform other duties.
