Job summary

WSP USA invites students to join our Power and Energy team as a Full-Time Civil Engineering (Transmission) Intern in Freeport, ME, for Spring 2027/Summer 2027. You will work with senior staff on real projects, gaining hands-on design, research, field tasks, and documentation experience.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program with a graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and desire to advance skills.
• Competent in communicating ideas to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start date.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and company policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
