Job summary

WSP USA invites undergraduates and graduates to join our Freeport, ME office as a Full-Time Civil Engineering (Transmission) Intern for Spring 2027/Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on exposure and work alongside senior staff on power delivery projects.

You will contribute to design calculations, field work, and project documentation, while learning basic Civil Engineering principles and maintaining safety and ethics standards. Compensation is $22.17–$28.85 per hour, with no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate/Graduate program with an anticipated Aug 2027 or later graduation.
• Must be 18 years or older at start of internship.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and desire to grow with WSP projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
