Job summary

Family of Kidz seeks a part-time Translator/Interpreter (English/Spanish) to support students and families. The role is remote with New York residents considered.

You will provide oral interpretation during evaluations and real-time interpretation for early intervention and CPSE assessments. The position requires fluency in English and Spanish, familiarity with medical and educational terminology, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform oral interpretation and translation for students and families whose primary language is not English during evaluations and other times as assigned.
• Provide real-time interpretation during early intervention and CPSE assessments.
• Accurately convey spoken language between English and the target language, ensuring meaning, tone, and intent are preserved.
• Translate written documents, such as summaries of reports and other forms, as requested.
• Adhere to confidentiality requirements and professional ethics in EI and CPSE settings.
• Maintain a neutral and impartial stance during interpreting assignments.

Translator / Interpreter (English/Spanish)

The Translator/ Interpreter must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and able to perform oral interpretation and translation for students and families whose primary language is not English during evaluations and other times as assigned.

Monday-Friday, flexible hours (pending service needs)

Compensation:

$25/hour

Please note this is a range. Rates are determined by the service provided, professional experience and license/certifications held. In addition the position posted may be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Written and verbal fluency in English and the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of medical and educational terminology relevant to early intervention and CPSE program.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
• A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to provide a current copy of all required health records.
