Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a bilingual Translator/Interpreter (English/Spanish) to support students and families during evaluations and other assignments. The role is remote, part-time, and paid at $25 per hour, with hours Monday–Friday and flexible scheduling based on service needs.

Overview includes real-time interpretation during EI and CPSE assessments, translation of written documents, and strict confidentiality with diverse clients. Benefits are available for 25+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and target language(s).
• Strong understanding of medical and educational terminology relevant to early intervention and CPSE.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse families and professionals.
• Background check and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform oral interpretation and translation for students and families whose primary language is not English during evaluations and other times as assigned.
• Provide real-time interpretation during early intervention and CPSE assessments.
• Convey spoken language accurately between English and the target language, preserving meaning and tone.
• Translate written documents such as summaries of reports and forms as requested.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics in EI and CPSE settings.
• Remain neutral and impartial during interpreting assignments.

The Translator/ Interpreter must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and able to perform oral interpretation and translation for students and families whose primary language is not English during evaluations and other times as assigned.

Location: Remote

(New York residents)

Status:Part-Time, Hourly

Hours: Monday-Friday, flexible hours (pending service needs)

Compensation:$25/hour

In addition the position posted may be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change.**

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a neutral and impartial stance during all interpreting assignments, ensuring that personal opinions or biases do not influence the communication process.

Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Written and verbal fluency in English and the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of medical and educational terminology relevant to early intervention and CPSE program.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
• A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to provide a current copy of all required health records.
