Wake Forest University School of Medicine seeks a research scientist to design and conduct experiments with minimal supervision. The role develops ideas, analyzes data, and prepares manuscripts for publication.

The candidate will perform cell preparations and cultures, analyze biochemical data, and assist in grant applications. Preference given to experience with cell culture, subcellular fractionation, and data scripting.

Formación

• MD, PhD, or both in Proteomics, Biochemistry, Biology, or Bioinformatics required.
• 3 years of relevant pre-doctoral research experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Performs cell preparations and cultures; maintains cell lines, treats, harvests, and analyses cell cultures and/or suitable animal tissues.
• Performs analyses using biochemical techniques.
• Establishes database management system.
• Produces abstracts and manuscripts for publication and presentation at scientific meetings.
• Assists with preparation of grant applications.
• Assists in the development of new methodology in sample preparation, and analysis of samples for molecular and biochemical analyses.
• Instructs and trains other laboratory employees in the use of the laboratory instruments, equipment, and techniques.
• Coordinates with other researchers.
