Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Neuroscience to join our Discovery Biology team.

This lab-based position advances neurodegenerative disease therapies through preclinical and translational work, including in vivo imaging and biomarker analyses. The successful candidate will design and execute rodent studies, apply ELISA and MRI techniques, and collaborate across neuroscience, imaging, pharmacology and data science to generate mechanistic insights for CNS drug

Qualifications

• Must hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline.
• Experience with rodent models of neurodegenerative disease.
• Hands-on experience with MRI or other translational imaging approaches.
• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (GraphPad Prism, HALO, MATLAB, Python).
• Strong publications and presentations demonstrating independent design and execution of studies.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct preclinical studies using rodent models of neurodegenerative diseases.
• Perform in vivo experiments including dosing, tissue collection, and biomarker analyses.
• Apply ELISA, Meso Scale Discovery, immunohistochemistry, and ultrasensitive biomarker assays.
• Develop and utilize in vivo MRI methods to evaluate neuroinflammation and translational endpoints.
• Integrate imaging and biomarker data to illuminate disease mechanisms and therapeutic responses.
• Collaborate across neuroscience, translational imaging, pharmacology and data science; present findings internally and at conferences.
