Job summary

MSD in the United States (Pennsylvania) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Neuroscience to advance therapies for neurodegenerative diseases through preclinical and translational research.

The role emphasizes designing in vivo studies with rodent models, biomarker analyses, MRI method development, and collaboration across neuroscience, imaging, pharmacology, and data science to drive CNS drug discovery.

Qualifications

• Experience with rodent models of neurodegenerative disease.
• Hands-on molecular biology and biomarker assays (ELISA, MSD, IHC).
• In vivo MRI or translational imaging experience.
• Understanding of PK/PD and translational pharmacology.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills (MATLAB, Python, GraphPad Prism).
• Ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot complex studies.
• Strong scientific communication evidenced by publications.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct preclinical studies using rodent models of neurodegenerative diseases.
• Perform hands-on in vivo experiments, including dosing, tissue collection, and downstream biomarker analyses.
• Apply biochemical and molecular techniques, including ELISA, MSD, immunohistochemistry, and ultrasensitive biomarker assays.
• Develop and utilize in vivo MRI methods to evaluate neuroinflammation, BBB integrity, and other translational endpoints.
• Integrate imaging, fluid biomarker, and pharmacological datasets to uncover disease mechanisms and therapeutic responses.
• Collaborate with scientists across neuroscience, translational imaging, pharmacology, and data science to generate insights.
• Present findings through internal presentations, scientific conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.
