Job summary

LatchBio in San Francisco seeks a Member of Technical Staff for Translational Medicine to own translational endpoints and ensure every clinical claim stands up to scrutiny by board-certified geneticists, regulators, or treating physicians.

You will build partnerships with patient cohorts and health systems to source data, negotiate data use agreements, and translate trial designs into benchmark tasks for scalable evaluation. This role emphasizes leadership beyond the individual contributor.

Qualifications

• MD with residency completed.
• Defined clinical endpoints for real drug programs.
• Was part of at least one clinical trial as a physician or investigator.
• Can identify and reason about disorders of human development caused by genetic mutations.
• Strong communicator.

Responsibilities

• Own translational endpoints across our therapeutics and disease benchmarks.
• Serve as the clinical authority for internal R&D teams across omics, therapeutics, and biosecurity.
• Build partnerships with patient cohorts, nonprofits, health systems, and biotechs to source clinical data for training and evaluating agents.
• Negotiate data use agreements and stand up consent, de-identification, and compliance workflows for clinically sensitive data.
• Translate real drug programs and trial designs into benchmark tasks agents can be scored against.
• Build a function beyond yourself.
