Job summary

Latch Bio, based in San Francisco, seeks a Member of Technical Staff focused on cell and gene therapy to define benchmarks and guide AI-driven biology work. You will own the cell and gene therapy roadmap, shaping construct design through IND-enabling studies, and collaborate with researchers and CROs to drive discovery and development.

This is a new function at Latch with the freedom to define needs and execute them, reporting to the Cell & Gene Therapy team.

Qualifications

• Years of hands-on work in cell or gene therapy and experience carrying programs through real decisions.
• Strong, defensible opinions about what constitutes correct work in this field.
• Desire to build a long-term function, not just fill a seat.

Responsibilities

• Author and ship the cell and gene therapy benchmarks across discovery, development, and translation.
• Be the scientific authority for all things cell therapy and gene therapy at Latch.
• Collaborate on and run drug programs in the wet lab to guide discovery and development workflows.
• Work with CROs to run experiments and gather data informing benchmark and agent design.
• Build a function beyond yourself: advisors, partners, and a hiring plan.
