Job summary

Novartis is seeking a TME Director Cardiovascular Metabolism to oversee PoC clinical trials, data collection, and operations. You will establish scientific methods for design and execution of clinical protocols, and collaborate across global teams to drive PoC strategy from PoC to potential registration.

The role requires MD with subspecialty and strong leadership in matrix organizations, plus experience in translating science to patient impact.

Qualifications

• MD required with clinical subspecialty in cardiovascular or endocrinology/metabolic disease; PhD/post-doc valued.
• 1–2 years in pharma/biotech, CRO, or academic medical center; 5+ years for Director level.
• Recognized for medical and scientific expertise with impactful publications.
• Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills.
• Independence: able to work independently on study planning and execution.
• Leadership of collaborations in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead global project teams through PoC phase and drive PoC strategy.
• Serve as medical monitor for one or more clinical studies.
• Communicate clinical matters to project teams and decision boards.
• Oversee publication and external presentation of PoC results.
• Support preclinical strategy and review preclinical data for clinical implications.
