Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Transitional Housing Ambassador Program Counselor in Indianapolis. You will develop individualized treatment plans, provide case management, and conduct individual, family, and group counseling to support clients’ recovery goals.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, and delivering educational classes as part of a comprehensive treatment program.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field (Master's preferred).
• Background checks: background check required; results reviewed.
• Experience: 1–2 years direct services in substance abuse field; some evenings/weekends.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days; CADAC/ACIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on the biopsychosocial assessment.
• Provide case management as needed and maintain caseload.
• Counsel clients individually, in families, and in group sessions.
• Document progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain client confidentiality per laws and Salvation Army policies.
