Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is seeking a co-op to join the Workforce Modernization team. You will analyze MBTA business processes, document user stories, and implement data-driven improvements with guidance from senior analysts.

You will develop change management plans and trainings, ensure stakeholder buy-in, and monitor the impact of your solutions across MBTA operations in a hybrid in-office setup in the Boston area.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university for the duration of the co-op.
• At least 1 year of experience in public transit or transportation or in business/operations/system analysis.
• Proficiency with standard office software and ability to communicate in English.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to work in diverse environments.
• Passion for public transportation and public service; able to commute to MBTA locations in the Boston area.
• Authorized to work in the United States; MBTA does not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MBTA stakeholders to document user stories and map business processes.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose data-driven optimizations for operational processes.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into business requirements with guidance from senior team members.
• Lead change-management efforts, including materials and trainings, for new tools and processes.
• Develop feedback loops and monitor quantitative impact on MBTA operations.
• Participate in team meetings, fieldwork, and other duties as needed.
• Possibly focus on specific departments or locations as assigned.
