Job summary

City of Gainesville, FL seeks a skilled mechanic for the Department of Transportation's Regional Transit System (RTS) Maintenance. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on automobiles, light trucks, buses and transit equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations and departmental policy.

Candidate should have a high school diploma with technical training and at least three years of vehicle repair experience; CDL class B with passenger endorsement is required within one

Qualifications

• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and diagnostic methods.
• Three years experience repairing motor vehicles and/or equipment.
• Requires a high school diploma with technical training.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on automobiles, light trucks, buses and transit equipment.
• Repairs diesel and gasoline engines and related fuel systems.
• Diagnoses and repairs bus transmission electronic control systems and on-board computer diagnostics.
• Repairs or replaces braking, steering, suspension, and lighting systems.
