Job summary

The MBTA's Program Manager in the Technology Department ensures rider- and operations-facing technology is launched, sustained, and integrated within a large public transit authority. This role aligns digital initiatives with procurement, vendor contracts, capital planning, compliance, and cross-departmental priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience coordinating program activities with multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with modern software development concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong systems-thinking and data-informed decision making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of coordination between TID teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and surface institutional barriers affecting cross-functional delivery and sustainability.
• Coordinate and manage vendor relationships, including performance monitoring and contract alignment.
• Monitor system performance and lifecycle risks, including budget constraints and compliance.
• Develop and maintain processes for tracking performance and operational improvements.
• Create visibility for teams and MBTA leadership through data analysis and reporting.
• Strengthen internal processes to support implementation and long-term delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
