Job summary

Modern Railway Systems, the systems subsidiary of Stacy Witbeck, is seeking a Transit Construction Project Engineer in Austin to lead transit system projects from planning to closeout. You will coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver safe, on-schedule work within budget.

The role emphasizes project controls, estimating changes, and ensuring compliance with contract documents. Travel and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of experience as a Field or Project Engineer working on transit rail projects.
• Understanding of conventional project management controls.
• Proficiency in scheduling, PDF Editors, MS Office Suites, Teams.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License in good standing.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel for project needs, corporate events and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned transit systems projects through planning, execution, and closeout.
• Coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.
• Report to project manager and lead project meetings with clients.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, project correspondence, and project logs.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and look-ahead plans; track progress and risks.
• Provide leadership to Field Engineers and subcontractors; ensure alignment with goals.
