Job summary

Metro is seeking an experienced engineer to perform complex engineering work and supervise staff through the review of project submittals to ensure compliance with Metro standards and objectives.

The role plans, organizes, and manages engineering projects, coordinates with user departments, utilities, and regulatory agencies, and provides design support during construction and startup for bus and rail transit projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• Six years of relevant experience or 3 years supervisory level in engineering; transit project experience valued.
• CA PE registration desirable; valid CA driver license; MS Word/Excel proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, assigns, implements, and manages engineering projects within budget and schedule requirements.
• Reviews contract docs, shop drawings, RFIs, and DDR for compliance with codes and Metro criteria.
• Provides resident engineering and design support during construction, bid/award, and startup activities for bus and rail projects.
