Job summary

Los Angeles Metro is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee rail and bus facilities projects from initiation through closeout within approved budgets.

You will lead project teams, coordinate with contractors and consultants, ensure schedule adherence, safety, and regulatory compliance, and report progress to senior management. A Bachelor's in engineering/architecture/construction management and six years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Six years of relevant experience or three years of supervisory-level experience in construction contracts; tunneling, aerial/underground structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages, drives, and monitors rail and bus facilities construction projects from start to finish.
• Oversees construction management consultants and staff, including inspectors and engineers.
• Ensures work complies with schedule, budget, safety, and legal requirements.
• Recommends contract changes and negotiates with consultants and contractors as needed.
• Coordinates activities with Metro staff and public agencies; reports progress to senior management.
• Reviews contract documents and assists with bid forms and pre-bid conferences.
• Monitors field implementation of safety rules and pollution controls.
