Job summary

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) seeks an experienced engineering leader to oversee submittal reviews and guide design and construction of bus and rail transit projects while ensuring compliance with Metro standards.

You will plan and manage engineering work within budget and schedule, coordinate with departments and agencies, review documents, and support field activities for quality and safety across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• Six years of relevant experience or 3 years supervisory-level experience in engineering for transit projects.
• California PE registration desirable; valid CA driver license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee review of project submittals to ensure compliance with Metro standards and project objectives.
• Plan, organize, assign, implement, and manage engineering projects within budget and schedule.
• Provide design support during construction and assist during bid, award, and startup phases for bus and rail projects.
• Coordinate with utility, railroad, and city/county/state agencies; perform field visits as needed.
• Mentor staff, ensure quality control, and update Metro design standards and criteria.
