Job description

Supervise, plan and coordinate motor coach route and paratransit activities and operations within the Operations Division of the Transit Department; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public. Provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Transit Manager/Operations.

This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business;
• Five (5) years of transit operator or transportation management experience;
• At least one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.

Additional requirements:

• Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license, or the ability to obtain one by the date of hire.
• Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from the date of hire.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with a Passenger (P) endorsement within two weeks from completion of City CDL training. Must be able to maintain the CDL once obtained.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Operations, services, and activities of a motor coach and paratransit program.
• Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
• Modern principles and practices of operating bus equipment, including fare box use.
• Record keeping principles and procedures.
• Business letter writing and basic report preparation.
• Relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
