Job summary

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) seeks a Serviceperson to perform general maintenance, cleaning and landscaping at rail stations, parking lots, and yards in the San Diego area. You will work morning or afternoon shifts with seniority-based bid to preferred times, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

The role requires physical stamina; duties include cleaning, grounds work, basic repairs, and operation of equipment where trained.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MTS policies and union labor contracts.
• Ability to read and apply policies and regulations.
• Clear, concise English communication in writing and speaking.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily briefings for assignments.
• Travel to stations and yards by company vehicle or trolley.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Operate forklifts if trained.
• Landscape stations and related outdoor spaces.
• Assist with loading supplies and basic construction tasks.
