Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a Signage Maintenance Technician II to support wayfinding and signage maintenance across transit facilities. The role involves coordinating fabrication, installation, content creation, and project management for signage updates and reliability across Sound Transit service areas.

The position requires travel to transit facilities, after-hours support, and adherence to safety practices, under supervision by the Manager of Signage Maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
• Experience in the signage industry, signage documentation and production maintenance support.
• Operational process management, project management, and contract administration.
• Knowledge of custom signage and code-required signage.
• Knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures.
• General understanding of construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee updates for signage maintenance, including service changes and demographic updates.
• Manage production plans, schedules, and budgets for signage projects.
• Create and troubleshoot signage content and manage databases.
• Survey on-site conditions and maintain/track documentation.
• Prepare production records and work documentation; enter data in FileMaker to generate schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams and architectural drawings to ensure content accuracy.
• Oversee small contracts and monitor expenditures.
