Job summary

Allied Universal in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to patrol transit facilities, assist riders and staff, and maintain a visible security presence. This role supports safety procedures, reports incidents, and ensures smooth daily operations in a dynamic public environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, and drug screening where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit riders, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to designated representatives.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation in accordance with site requirements.
