Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to support unarmed patrols at a government transit location in San Carlos, CA. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and prepare incident reports while maintaining a welcoming environment for passengers and staff.

This full-time role requires you to be 18+ and to pass background checks and drug screening as per policy.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle yards, and surrounding perimeters to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned transit locations, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with transit personnel and public emergency services as directed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
