Job summary

City of Albuquerque seeks a Transit Safety Officer to provide safety services for City facilities and transit assets. You will patrol on foot, by bicycle or vehicle to ensure safe practices and environments are maintained on facility grounds and city property.

Respond to calls for service, assist law enforcement, and document incidents; conduct investigations and prepare reports. May perform safety inspections and operate security systems as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of security, customer service, or parking operations experience required.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide transit safety services for City facilities and vehicles; patrol by foot, bicycle, or vehicle to maintain safe environments.
• Provide crowd and traffic control around transit property and vehicles.
• Respond to calls for service and reports of crimes; call for medical or police services as needed; assist law enforcement.
• Conduct preliminary investigations; determine if further action is warranted; document incidents and prepare reports.
• May conduct periodic fire and safety inspections of Transit City facilities and make recommendations.
