Job summary

Flagler County is seeking a Transportation Safety & Security Coordinator to lead safety and security for public transportation. You will plan, direct and oversee operations, manage safety programs, and coordinate training and compliance across departments.

The role requires supervisory experience in transit, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to partner with HR on testing and onboarding. This is a full-time position based in Florida with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years in a supervisory position.
• Three years in public transit, logistics, safety or related field preferred.
• Two years of hands-on mechanical and general vehicle repair and maintenance preferred.
• Possession of Class C Florida CDL with Passenger Endorsement preferred; obtain within specified timeframes.
• Ability to obtain Transit Safety and Security Program Certificate within 2 years of hire.
• Ability to obtain Florida Drug and Alcohol Program Manager Certificate within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety and security for field operations, vehicles and facilities.
• Investigate incidents and develop corrective measures to minimize recurrence.
• Develop and maintain safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver onboarding and safety training; coordinate with HR for testing.
• Maintain driver records and KPI analyses.
• Assist in hiring and provide emergency coordination support.
