Job summary

Techno Consult Engineering, PC (Techno) seeks a Construction Inspector for the Hudson Tunnel Project in the Newark area to support NJ TRANSIT and the Gateway Development Commission. The role emphasizes quality assurance, field inspections, documentation, and compliance with FTA, Buy America, and Build America regulations.

Responsibilities include audits of contractors, reviews of records, tracking of materials and testing results, and preparation of reports for project leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection, QA/QC, or construction management on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with QA/QC processes, inspection/testing, material traceability, and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with FTA, Buy America and BABA requirements and waiver processes is preferred.
• Experience reviewing contractor records, audits, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and quality surveillance to verify construction activities comply with specs and quality plans.
• Review contractor inspection reports, testing records, material certifications, BMLs, and sourcing docs.
• Support QA/QC procedures and compliance with FTA, Buy America and BABA requirements.
• Audit contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and testing agencies for compliance.
• Track material traceability, testing results, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
• Maintain organized quality and compliance records and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with Quality Manager, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Assist with audits, project acceptance, punch-list completion, and close-out documentation.
