Job summary

RINA is recruiting a Project Controls Specialist to join its office in Boston, MA or Chicago/Lisle, IL within the Civil Engineering Division. The role focuses on CPM scheduling, cost control, and EVMS on transit and transportation projects, from planning through closeout.

Responsibilities include developing CPM schedules, budgets, EV reporting, risk analyses, and maintaining project documentation. Travel up to 10% may be required; PMI/ACE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, financial, or business management field.
• Experience on transit or transportation projects.
• Proficient in Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Office.
• 3+ years in scope management, planning & scheduling including cost and risk.
• Strong knowledge of project controls and Earned Value management.
• Experience with large, complex schedules and Work Breakdown Structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present data clearly.
• PMI-PMP/PMI-SP/AACE-EVP/PSP or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost and resource loaded CPM schedules.
• Maintain time-phased budgets, schedules, and WBS with cost accounts.
• Provide EV reporting and forecasting for projects.
• Interface with technical, financial, and project teams on scheduling and cost.
• Gather, validate, analyze monthly performance data.
• Support change management by updating schedules and PMB in a timely manner.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project controls systems.
• Participate in meetings on schedule development and resource assignment.
• Perform monthly variance analysis and corrective actions.
• Identify problems and develop solutions for project issues.
• Support risk analyses and mitigation processes.
• Develop, review, and update supporting project documentation.
• Participate in subcontract development and management of performance.
• Work independently to meet deadlines.
