The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Transit Planner to perform complex technical analysis supporting Transit Department operations, including route scheduling, service planning, and GIS/AVL data maintenance. Responsibilities include analyzing ridership, demographics, and stop amenities to improve transit service and efficiency.

Applicant will engage in public outreach, prepare materials for service changes, and participate in meetings to gather feedback.

Qualifikationen

• Four years increasingly responsible experience in public administration, public transit administration, geography, planning or a related field.
• Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geography, planning, marketing or a related field.
• Candidates selected for hire must attach official graduation certificates with the application to avoid delays.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement route schedules and service plans for fixed routes.
• Analyze demographic and ridership data to determine amenity improvements (bus stops, shelters, sidewalks).
• Generate maps and analyze spatial data using transit planning software.
• Coordinate public outreach activities and prepare materials for planned service changes and advertising.
• Participate in public meetings to explain proposals and gather feedback.
• Maintain system mapping and reconcile mileage for NTD reporting.
• Analyze scheduled vs actual operator payroll hours for efficiency improvements.
• Administer survey instruments to measure transit service quality and APC validation.
