Job summary

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Transportation Department seeks a Transportation Planner to support public transportation projects in the Transit Regional Coordination and Mobility Management area. The role involves collaborating with transit partners across the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area to advance multimodal planning, data analysis, and policy implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods related to transportation planning, urban/regional planning, public administration, or engineering.
• 1 year or less of work-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination, implementation, management, and assessment of short-term transit-related projects, tracking progress and deliverables.
• Collaborate with partners to build community networks, coordinate resources, provide technical assistance, and conduct outreach.
• Develop traditional and innovative transit service delivery in a multimodal, multi-county environment.
• Support technical activities in short-term transit planning, service planning, analysis, and service design.
• Draft correspondence, technical reports, grant applications, and other documents for supervisor review.
• Incorporate performance, ridership, financial, demographic, land use, Census, and related data into planning tasks.
• Research and interpret Federal, state, and local transportation planning regulations and funding guidelines.
• Prepare presentations for supervisor review and deliver them to staff and committees.
