Job summary

North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) seeks a Senior Transportation Planner to lead the Land-Use and Mobility Options program team. The role oversees staff, implements projects, and coordinates transit initiatives across the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area with public and private partners.

The position emphasizes data-driven planning, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods (urban planning, transportation planning, public administration, urban geography, or related field).
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop traditional and innovative transit service delivery in a multimodal environment across a multi-county region.
• Support regional transportation programs, policies, and partnerships to improve mobility and coordination.
• Monitor and coordinate project activities, including budget expenditures and progress reporting.
• Oversee staff and coordinate with consultants on transportation plans and studies.
