Job summary

The Coalition for Smarter Growth (CSG) seeks a Baltimore County Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Organizer to advance sustainable, equitable transit-accessible communities. The role will be based in Washington, DC with a hybrid schedule requiring one in-person day per week and travel to Baltimore County.

The position offers non-exempt status with either full-time or part-time options, funded by a one-year grant; compensation is hourly at $30–$34, commensurate with experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Commitment to CSG’s core values and smart growth mission.
• Ability to read reports, summarize, and deliver testimony.
• Willingness to travel within Baltimore County and adjacent areas.
• Night and weekend availability when needed.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Maryland Housing Advocacy Manager and support TOD efforts.
• Develop contacts, hold meetings, and build a base of TOD supporters.
• Attend public meetings and deliver testimony on smart growth.
• Communicate frequently with supervisor and stakeholders.
• Coordinate outreach for events and community engagement.
• Maintain documentation and follow the hiring process steps.
