Florida League of Cities, Inc. in Tampa, FL seeks a Transit Operator to safely operate mass transit vehicles and provide excellent customer service to riders. The role requires attention to schedules, clear communication, and adherence to safety rules.

State CDL endorsement is preferred, and the position will follow union contract pay rates. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least 18 years old, and two years of driving experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Two years driving experience (commercial and/or non-commercial) required.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.
• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.

Responsabilités

• Perform pre-strip inspections of transit vehicles as required by FDOT.
• Operates mass transit vehicles following safety and time schedules.
• Assist passengers with routes, schedules, and fares via PA systems or direct communication.
• Collect fares and handle transit materials from dispatch.
• Ensure on-time service and operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
• Prepare concise accident/incident reports for dispatch.
• Report vehicle/mechanical issues per policies.
• Attend required trainings and maintain professional interaction with the public.
