Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Transit Operator I to drive bus routes, provide exceptional service to passengers, and ensure reliable transit operations. The successful candidate will operate buses on established routes, conduct safety inspections, and assist passengers while maintaining accurate trip records.

Qualifications include a valid North Carolina driver's license with the necessary endorsements, alongside strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old and possess a valid Class B North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger (P) Endorsement.
• Six months of verifiable experience operating a similar or larger commercial vehicle.
• Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus routes and serve passengers.
• Perform pre-departure inspections of the bus.
• Collect fares, issue tickets, and assist passengers.
