Job summary

RATP Dev USA – Go-Durham is seeking a Bus Operator to transport passengers safely and courteously on prescribed routes. You will ensure compliance with safety and traffic laws, assist riders, and uphold high service standards in a busy Durham operation.

Position offers full-time, part-time, or casual shifts with a competitive rate and pension availability. DOT physical and valid NC CDL with endorsements are required, along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• DOT Physical exam required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• North Carolina CDL Permit with passenger and air brake endorsements or CDL A/B with same endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Transports Passengers safely and courteously according to routes and prescribed stops.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws about operation, traffic, and safety.
• Ensure the highest quality of service delivered to customers.
• Assist customers with disabilities, including assisting with wheelchair lift and safety restraints.
• Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce accidents.
• Operate assigned vehicles to meet customer standards and safety rules.
• Perform pre-trip inspection to ensure safe, proper working condition.
• Coordinate detour, accident, and incident information to radio dispatch and respond accordingly.
• Make independent decisions and manage conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies.
• Report and follow up on accidents or unusual incidents near RATP Dev/GoDurham vehicles.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

CDL Permit with passenger and air brake endorsements OR CDL A/B with same endorsements
