Job summary

Duke University Transportation Services seeks a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily transit operations, coordinate services, and ensure safe, reliable mobility for students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors.

You will lead scheduling, staffing, and training; monitor routes and vehicle performance; participate in preventive maintenance and safety initiatives; and collaborate with campus partners to deliver exceptional transportation service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of transportation services experience required.
• North Carolina CDL with Passenger Endorsement preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily transit operations, including route scheduling, staffing assignments, vehicle deployment, and service adjustments.
• Develop and maintain operator schedules for semester routes, charter services, events, and daily operations.
• Participate in preventive maintenance planning and coordinate repairs and service appointments.
• Train and coach transportation staff on safe vehicle operations and customer service expectations.
• Analyze operations, routes, and equipment utilization to identify improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
• Respond to inquiries related to transit services, maintain reports and communications, and serve as a resource for service concerns.
• Perform other related duties in support of Duke Transportation Services.
