Job summary

City and Borough of Juneau seeks a Long-Term Temporary Capital Transit Service Technician II to perform hands-on maintenance and cleanliness of buses and facilities. The role requires lifting, exposure to outdoor conditions, and adherence to schedules.

Ideal candidates will have a valid Alaska driver’s license and, optionally, a true CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsements. Possession or progression toward Class A/B CDL is expected within 9 months.

Qualifications

• Valid Alaska driver's license at time of application.
• CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsemens (preferred) and progression toward Alaska Class A/B CDL within 9 months.
• Experience as an automotive serviceman or operator is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle and facility maintenance and cleanliness, including buses and shelters.
• Wash, fuel, and conduct pre-trip inspections on Capital Transit buses and support vehicles.
• Clean facilities and remove trash; work outdoors in varying weather; maintain adherence to schedules.
