Job summary

Transdev is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager in the Phoenix West location to support supervision of vehicle maintenance for fixed route, circulator, and support vehicles. This role assists the Maintenance Manager and leads maintenance staff to keep 180 vehicles in safe, reliable service.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of supervisory experience, experience with heavy equipment and unions, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
• Requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience dealing with heavy equipment, preferably experience with CNG transit buses.
• Experience working with Unions in the transportation industry.
• Must be a team player yet able to work well independently.
• Experience supervising employees on multiple shifts.
• Solid computer skills in standard office tools including word processing and spreadsheet software and use of maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff.
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Manage equipment, parts and supplies inventories.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment history.
• Input data into maintenance software database ensuring the accuracy and timeliness for reporting purposes.
• Assist in the procurement of parts and the management of parts inventory.
• Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with standards for professional and ethical conduct.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance department.
