Job summary

CATA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Lansing, MI to oversee maintenance personnel, including mechanics and utilities, and to ensure the quality and safety of vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The role reports to the Director of Maintenance and may require long hours and overtime as needed.

Candidates should have a strong background in diesel/gasoline vehicle maintenance, front-line supervision in a union environment, and proficiency with fleet management and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school degree with some college preferred.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with BP endorsements.
• Experience supervising frontline transit vehicle maintenance in a union setting.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise maintenance personnel.
• Authorize the execution of repairs.
• Direct and supervise mechanics and helpers on diagnostic and repair processes.
• Coordinate with Facilities Manager on building and equipment issues.
• Diagnose and repair fare collection equipment.
• Use fleet management software to assign work and track costs.
