Job summary

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) seeks a Fire Marshal to enforce FRA, OSHA, NYS Building Code, and NFPA standards across LIRR facilities and rolling stock. Lead fire safety programs, inspections, training, and incident investigations to safeguard employees, customers, and the public.

You will collaborate with external agencies and internal departments, ensuring compliance, preparing reports, and guiding building and fire systems, hazardous materials handling, and emergency action plans.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in fire/life safety or related emergency response.
• Strong knowledge of FRA, OSHA, NYS Uniform Fire Code, NFPA standards and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire safety inspections, incident investigations, and training delivery per FRA/OSHA/NYS standards.
• Coordinate with emergency services and internal departments for building safety and emergency action plans.
• Maintain documentation, exams, and records for AED, fire safety equipment, and inspections.
