Job summary

Transdev in Fairfax County is hiring a Field Supervisor in Herndon to oversee day-to-day field operations with a focus on safety and customer service. The position is part of the U.S. operations where reliability and effective leadership are valued.

You will manage Operators scheduling and staffing, lead a team through coaching and performance discussions, perform safety ride checks, and interpret maps and transit rules to keep operations smooth and compliant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Preferred minimum of 2 years of relevant leadership experience
• Ability to secure a Class B CDL with a P endorsement.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Manage Operators scheduling & staffing of routes.
• Provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communication, appraisal, training, and coaching.
• Perform Operator safety evaluation ride checks, investigate and respond to situations, resolve operational issues.
• Read maps, interpret transit operating rules and policies.
• Other duties as required.
