Job summary

HDR is hiring a Transit Engineering Business Class Leader in North Carolina to guide the design and delivery of complex transit and multimodal projects. You will serve as a senior technical leader, mentor staff, and support public agency clients from development through final design and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in transit/ freight rail engineering management.
• Professional licensure (NC) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor and client liaison with transit agencies and public-sector clients.
• Lead business development, client engagement, and pursuit strategies.
• Coordinate cross-discipline teams across planning, environmental, design, and construction.
• Lead engineering development for transit corridors, stations, and maintenance facilities.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, and deliverables for complex assignments.
