Job summary

The City of Fort Collins is seeking an Officer III, Enforcement (Transit Service Officer III) to patrol transit facilities and buses, enforce codes, and support investigations. This full-time role emphasizes safety, community engagement, and accountability within Transfort.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience. A valid driver’s license and specialized training are required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of city ordinances and state statutes related to transit operations.
• Ability to handle high stress and emergency situations.
• Ability to operate vehicles, bicycles and radios; proficient in basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Provide municipal code enforcement at transit facilities, stations, bus stops and on buses.
• Conduct patrols to monitor transit activity and ensure safety.
• Enforce fare regulations and respond to incidents and inquiries.
• Assist in investigations and maintain records in the police system.
• Engage with community groups and participate in neighborhood meetings.
