Job summary

City of Fredericksburg is seeking a Transit Security Officer to safeguard transit property, staff, customers, and the public in a full-time role with benefits. The position involves patrols, incident response, customer assistance, and enforcing rules at transit facilities.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and two years of security or related experience, plus the ability to operate radios and common software; CPR/First Aid and firearms training may be required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years of law enforcement, security or related experience
• Must be able to operate a radio, tablet/iPad, cellphone, computer, and related software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

Responsibilities

• Perform safety and security patrols for transit property, staff, customers and the public
• Coordinate with dispatch and management, file timely incident reports
• Provide customer service at transit stations and enforce rules
• Develop policies and training programs, liaise with law enforcement as needed
