Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a Transit Compliance Specialist to support the Assistant Manager, Transit Compliance in maintaining the DOT drug and alcohol testing program in full compliance with 49 CFR Parts 40 and 655, plus MTA policies, and to handle confidential testing records in a regulated environment.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, this role requires regulatory attention and strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Transportation, Safety/Security, Public Policy, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
Credentials relative to workplace drug/alcohol testing are a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain Transit drug/alcohol testing records (electronic and hard-copy) including pre-placement and post-hire results, testing notifications, and training records.
Obtain drug/alcohol testing history for job applicants and employees entering DOT-regulated positions.
Liaise with MROs, specimen collectors, testing technicians, Labor Relations attorneys, and HR recruiters to ensure policy compliance.
Support inquiries regarding DOT regulations and MTA policy; develop and distribute testing standards and training materials.
Perform other duties as assigned.
