Job summary

Flagler County Public Transportation seeks an experienced administrative dispatcher to perform advanced, safety‑sensitive clerical and backup dispatching duties in support of FCPT operations.

You will assist the Transportation Coordinator with scheduling, manifests, Medicaid verification, billing, and performance reporting, while ensuring compliance with FTA regulations and maintaining courteous, reliable service for riders and drivers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of office procedures.
• Knowledge of county road system.
• Ability to organize effectively and efficiently, schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles to scheduled and unscheduled destinations.
• Ability to proficiently operate a personal computer and a two-way radio.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to understand and carry-out directions.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
• Knowledge of transportation scheduling software such as Trapeze.

Responsibilities

• Receives telephone calls, takes cancellations, and schedules trips.
• Operates computer dispatch program and directs drivers.
• Creates, distributes, and audits manifests of daily trips for FCPT.
• Prepares trip and on-time performance reports as needed.
• Assists with drivers in mapping help with routes as needed.
• Assists with Medicaid verification and billing.
• Provides administrative assistance to Transportation Coordinator.
• Must comply with the provisions of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Regulations.
• During emergencies, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
