Job summary

The Milwaukee County Transit System is seeking an 'A' Bus Mechanic to diagnose and repair transit vehicles, and perform preventive maintenance to meet time standards. This union-represented role requires extensive mechanical expertise and the ability to work with the maintenance team at the Kinnickinnic Garage.

Responsibilities include road testing, operating snow removal equipment in yard, directing lower classified staff, and maintaining attendance.

• Must possess a complete complement of personal tools required to perform this position.
• Ability to use all required tools and equipment needed to perform all job-related tasks.
• Must be able to meet and communicate effectively with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Repair engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes and related components.
• Repair air systems, fuel systems and door mechanisms.
• Perform road tests on transit system vehicles and operate yard snow removal equipment.
